'Crazy Eyes' wins an Emmy

uzo-aduba-gAmerican born, Nigerian actress Uzo Aduba, who plays our favourite, wacky Litchfield Penitentiary inmate Suzanna "Crazy Eyes" Warren has won an Emmy.

Adubo won the Creative Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy, beating her OITNB co-stars Laverne Fox and Natasha Lyonne as well as Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey and Melissa McCarthy, plus Joan Cusack for her work on US version of Shameless.SuzanneInfobox

Morgan Freemen presented her the award on Saturday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. In an emotional speech, Uzo thanked her mother, the show's producers and others for a show "that let's everyone be represented in such a beautiful way."

Orange Is The New Black also won in two other categories: Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series for Season 1, Episode 2 "Tit Punch". The show also recieved 12 nominations in total.
