Recap Lip Service Season 2 Episode 6

****WARNING SPOILERS****
Lexy and Sadie are having breakfast and Tess walks in freaking out about tonight's opening of her new play. Ed arrives and gives Tess a "Good Luck card," Lexy follows this by giving her an opening night package, and Tess is delighted! It's all pretty and pink! There's an awkward moment when Tess realises there's a ticket spare for Sam who has been AWOL for the past couple of days, but luckily Sadie snaps it up for her sexy lady affair.
Tess is trying on outfits for the after show party and asks Lexy for her advice. Lexy gives Tess a compliment about her fabulous legs and Tess is on Cloud 9. Lexy leans in for a goodbye kiss on the cheek and Tess turns her head for a plant on the lips. Cue awkward moment where Tess attempts to break the silence by complimenting Lexy's lip balm, which turns out to be a medicated chap stick. Hey, some ladies love that stuff. You can get rid of those snaggly bits of skin while making out, it's a win win!

Tess is sitting with Ed in the living room worrying that Lexy has probably realised that she fancies her. Ed tries to help the situation by saying that this morning Lexy announced that there was someone she fancied but that they wouldn't need a ticket for tonight. Could she have meant Tess? Performing in the play would alleviate any need for a ticket. Right? She opens up the package from Lexy and along with Champagne finds Imodium. That is definitely one way to a woman's heart.
Lexy meets Sam in the street and is given a less than warm welcome. Sam is in a bubble of self-pity and rage and is not taking kindly to Lexy's concern. Lexy lets her know she is there for her and walks off. On a side note, I can't decide if I love or hate Lexy's outfit. Part of me wants to rock the sleeveless chequered top and the other part wants to take her shopping. Does this mean I fancy her? ha readers! I would never admit it if i did…. maybe.
Sexy Lexy gets to work and receives a message from Tess asking for valium. She smiles (sweetly) and seems to be trying to convince herself that perhaps dating Tess is the right way to go as Sam is never going to work. They would be a cute couple.
At the police station, Sam walks in to a briefing on her long awaited undercover sting. When attempting to give instructions she seems distracted and unable to keep focus. It's a good thing Heather Peace looks so good without make-up. I understand that being a copper doesn't really allow you to ply yourself with foundation and shimmering eye liner so therefore I applaud her. If it were me, you would all be aghast. Especially with HD. I hate HD.

Sam knows she isn't herself and her partner seems particularly concerned. She brushes off his comments and tells him everything is fine. He believes her. Maybe he thinks it's lady week,
Sadie gets to work and sees Lauren and Jo in the middle of a row. Apparently there is some shin-dig on tonight that Lauren had forgotten about. Lauren leaves, but not before touching Sadie's hand and making sexy eyes at her.
At the theatre, Tess arrives and gets sucked into Nora's warpath. She has to listen as Nora tries to play off the whole break up as her idea, not realising that Tess had been present and heard the whole thing. Tess nods sarcastically and walks into the dressing room to see a disheveled Hugh drinking his pain away at getting divorce papers from his wife. Tess tries to get him focused on the play but it looks as if not all will be going as planned.
Lexy is at work with ManFriend and tells him that she went to see Sam that morning. She is upset at how she was treated and calls herself an idiot for fancying her in the first place. ManFriend tells her to go after Tess instead and she agrees, saying its better to be with someone who isn't damaged, her usual type.
At the sting, Sam is testing out the equipment has a mini panic attack. Her partner catches her breathing heavily on the stairs and asks her, yet again, what's wrong, prompting Sam to lose her cool and tell him to stop worrying about her. He tells her to go home and she declines the offer.
Sadie is at work with a waspy woman who obviously has more cash than sense. Donning a fake posh accent, Sadie tries to sell her a vase for 35 thousands pounds. The wasp goes off to the bathroom and then leaves. Sadie walks in after and realises that Madame Wasp has left her incredibly expensive watch on the sink. Sticky fingers Sadie picks it up and pops it into her pocket.

Hugh is flipping through a magazine, trying to get his mind off his problems and stumbles upon an article about his wife and her new famous actor lover. He flips. The rest of the cast are at rehearsals and hear Hugh having a dramatic breakdown. Tess rushes over to him and panics when she hears him state he is going to win his estranged wife back. What does this mean for tonight's performance?? He has turned into a lunatic. Instead of rehearsing he is on the phone ordering a ton of flowers to be delivered to his wife's new abode. See? it's not just lesbians who go mad.
The drop is going to go down in mere moments and Sam is trying to stay focused. She has another attack on the stairs. When the hand over actually happens and she gives the signal, her team rushes in and apprehends the drug dealers. In the mayhem of the chaos, one takes off and her partner runs after him. She receives his cries for help over her walky talky and is unable to find him as she has another panic attack in the warehouse. She finally gathers herself and attempts to find him. He is slumped over against a wall covered in blood. She calls for help and holds him in her arms.

At the opening night, Ed arrives with a massive bundle of flowers that Nora expects is for her. He shoots her down and the two exchange snide remarks.
Lauren and Sadie are having sexy time and for the first time ever there seems to be an emotional connection. This is obvious by the cheesy acoustic song played over the scene. Afterwards, Sadie gives Lauren the watch she found as a present. Lauren is dumbstruck, obviously in the know about the retail price. She thanks Sadie and agrees to go to the play with her that evening.

Sam arrives at the hospital with her partner going into intensive care. She waits outside the operating room looking a mess. After washing her bloody hands in the sink she calls someone… but who?
At rehearsals, the director unfortunately tells Hugh that his wife called and wants him to know that he is in breach of his restraining order. Hugh walks out on the cast and when Tess chases after him, Nora switches the tea she is meant to drink on stage with vinegar. Damn you dumpling! Tess begs Hugh to put on his costume but he is too crazy to think straight.
Outside the theatre, Lexy and Ed arrive and see Sadie waiting for Lauren. She tells the two to remember that Lauren is her aunt, if anyone asks. Cause that's not weird at all. It's show time and Hugh has locked himself in his dressing room. Tess gives up and heads off to the stage.
Sadie is still waiting outside and the play begins, she gives her tickets to two passerbys and wanders off, being watched by a blonde in a cafe. Does everyone have a stalker these days? Where's mine?
Hugh misses his cue but shows up at the last minute, thank god! Tess drinks the vinegar and pulls through perfectly. Nora gives her devil eyes. Ugh!
Lauren is at home with Jo looking antsy at having to have dinner with friends who seem to be running late. One of the guests is Madam Wasp herself! She sees Lauren wearing her watch but doesn't say anything at first. Awkward!
Sam visits her partner who is now awake but worse for wear. She apologises for not having saved him. He ignores her, looking pissed off. She finally admits that he was right and that she isn't all that great in the head right now.
Back to the play and Hugh is texting on stage during Tess's scene with him. When she opens her notebook to act out writing she finds it filled with half nude cut outs of ladies. Score! Cut to Nora looking pleased with herself. Hey Nora, that's not really evil is it? I mean, it saves us buying FHM or Front. Tess confronts Nora backstage and gets the explanation "it's a bit of fun."
Ed and Lexy are at the theatre bar during interval and Lexy checks her phone. One missed call! It's from Sam!
Ed goes to see Tess in her dressing room and tells her that Lexy is enjoying the play and can't take her eyes of her. Tess is ecstatic. Oh dear.
Lexy tries to call Sam back but her phone is off. Instead of heading back into the theatre she runs out.
Backstage Tess wrestles Hugh's phone out of his hands and pushes him back on stage. She notices that Lexy has left and gets distracted, Poor Tess. During a scene about unrequited love she taps into her real emotions about Lexy and gives a moving performance. At the end she gets a standing ovation from the crowd.
At the dinner party, Madame Wasp is interrogating Lauren about her watch. Luckily she gets a text from Sadie and excuses herself from the table. She meets Sadie outside her home and confronts her about the stolen watch. She calls Sadie f*** Up and pretty much ends the relationship. Sadie leaves in tears. Aww..

Sam arrives home looking miserable and sees the empty whisky bottles strewn around her flat. She pours herself another drink and downs it. She hears a knock at her door and it's Lexy. The two have a heartfelt discussion about Sam's recent breakdown and Sam manages to let some of her pent up anger go. She leans in and kisses Lexy, which leads to a passionate make out session, which then leads to long-awaited Sexy Time. Surprisingly, Lexy tops Sam, who'd have thunk it?
After the performance, Tess arrives at the after party and gets compliments left and right by audience members. Nora tries to brush off Tess's performance by belittling her, and Tess has had enough. She finally stands up for herself and tells Nora where to stick it. Yay! She then wanders off to find Ed and is obviously upset that Lexy left half way through.

Sadie, still in tears walks over to the gallery and breaks in. Still being watched by blondie in a car. She walks over to the safe and empties it out before being confronted by blondie, who turns out to be Janice, the thief from Sadie's past. The two run out of the gallery and into Janice's car, but not before destroying that stupid vase. Ooh it's like Thelma and Louise!
Tess arrives home and expects to find Lexy. When she doesn't, she gives her a call and Lexy answers in Sam's kitchen. She tells Tess that she is still in the hospital, obviously feeling guilty…. But not for long as she climbs back into bed with Sam and goes in for a cuddle.

Tess goes into Lexy's bedroom and smells her pillow lovingly. She realises how creepy she is being and throws it back down. Poor Tess, how can this series end like this for her? Why does the nice one end up with no one? BBC you have some explaining to do!
