MUSIC: The Special Ks support Jessie J

thespecialksThe five piece electro-pop band from Brighton supported Jessie J at her Vitamin Water sponsored show at the Roundhouse, alongside fellow support act Mr Hudson.

In such a small venue the boys were at risk of being overpowered by Jessie’s powerful and energetic performance style however they delivered a dynamic and memorable set that anyone would have been proud of.

The buzz in the venue was electric as they took to the stage and prepared the audience for the powerhouse that is Jessie J. The roundhouse was the perfect venue for these five boys from the seaside town to perform as they created a sound that simply could not allow the audience to keep still; their music is something you just have to get up and dance along to! Their love of performing was evident throughout their set with their energy grabbing the audience’s attention alongside their catchy electro beats and a strong pop vocal.

This band is certainly not for the faint hearted, they exceed expectation and really give you a show. Performing a wide variety of tracks; with the most memorable being an upbeat, 2012 version of the The Electric Light Orchestra’s hit “Evil Woman” and the most recently released “New Ways”. Their catchy lines and hard to resist beats had the crowd singing and dancing along as if they were born to do it.

The band seemed to effortlessly conquer a crowd and have the potential to conquer you.  With their most recent music video including the use of dog heads, these boys definitely have their own style, and they know how to use it to their advantage... check them out here.
