Alison Bechdel, the cartoonist and graphic memoirist, famous for the 'Bechdel Test' is one of the nine women to receive what some call the 'genius grant' to fund future projects in a way that suits them best.

In an interview on Russian TV, which was translated by YouTube video description, she answered that she would condemn her own son if her was gay "because I believe that a real man must be a real man."

6 universities score full marks for gay-friendliness

Ireland's 'beauty pageant' winner comes out

Linda Perry & Sara Gilbert expecting again

The co-host confessed during the 'Face Your Fears' section of CBS show "The Talk" which returned to the air for it's fifth season. The former Roseanne actress' dare was to face her own fear of getting hurt and to lay down on a bed of nails and have a cinder block broken over her stomach.

She realised, through working with the writers and cast of the show, that she didn't just prefer 'reading a book' to sex. She also had to tell her husband that she was gay. It's been an interesting story for the lady who wrote the scenes between Piper and Alex 'hearting' each other as they rekindled their romance in Season 1.
